Memebox Review – Superbox #45: Korea’s Most Wanted

I planned to review Earth & Sea next, but I didn’t have time to take pictures, so let’s look at Korea’s Most Wanted instead. I had no idea what this box might be about, so I took a chance on ordering it, and it paid off!

Korea's Most Wanted

KMW

Memebox is a Korean Beauty mystery box. They generally release new boxes each week; some are themed and others miscellaneous products. All items are Korean, usually lesser-known brands. Boxes range in price (starting usually at $23 USD) and standard shipping (which takes a couple of weeks) is $6.99 USD per box ordered (so if you order two boxes, it’s $13.98 for shipping). Boxes are usually pre-ordered to be shipped at a later date, although they do have some ready to ship now.

Memebox products come packaged in a sturdy pink cardboard box with crumpled tissue paper for padding. The box then comes in either a pink bubblewrap mailer or a shipping box if multiple boxes are shipping at once. The products are usually arranged neatly and are often sealed by the manufacturer.

Shara Shara Tinted Style Lip Gloss (4.5g)
“Creates a moisturizing coat over your lip for locking in moisture and preventing any dehydration. A single coat of the lip tint adds colorful glow and radiance to your lipe, while multiple coats pull off a more vivid signature lip makeup. Plus, there’s no need for re-applications with its extremely long-lasting formula.”

I got the color fuchsia pink, which is way too much for me, so I’ll give this to a friend. I didn’t notice much of a scent, but it felt cool on the lips and stained both my lips and hand where I swatched it.

Makeup Helper Pact (23g)
“Enriched with lemon balm extracts and the White Flower Complex made from 7 different flower extracts, it boasts a gentle, natural formula and strong adherence to skin. Also, it’s delicately scented with a rose green floral fragrance and is greatly loved for its special edition packaging designs and its one-of-a-kind jumbo size.”

muhpowder

This sucker is HUGE. I mean, I can’t even fit it in my purse makeup bag, so I had to slip it into a pocket of my purse. The mirror is enormous, and it has a plastic shield to keep the powder from spilling everywhere, like an air cushion compact. Memebox sent a random case design (I got the original design) and color (I got 21 light beige, which actually matches me perfectly). The pad is a soft cushion made of the same material as cosmetic wedges. I don’t really notice the floral scent unless I inhale it, and this powder mattes me down nicely and stays put. I love this product!

Hope Girl Nail Travel Bling Bling Set (5g each x 3)
“Keep it chic or sleek with 3 full-coverage glitters.”

So obviously nail polish is the last thing I need in a Memebox, and God loves me as I am, according to Hope Girl. But these toppers are kind of nice, so I’ll put them to use. They’re tiny (about 1/3 the size of a regular bottle of polish), but since they’re toppers, I’ll probably get a few manicures out of them. I got the Gold Shine set: a pale champagne shimmer, an antique gold small glitter, and a true gold larger hex glitter in a clear base.

Blithe Patting Water Pack (200mL)
“No need to stick on a sheet mask every night. Simply through patting on the water pack, it’ll remove dead skin cells, deliver moisture and nutrition, and renew the skin balance for maintaining soft, moist skin.”

I got the Rejuvenating Purple Berry to improve skin elasticity and firmness, which is perfect for me. The other kinds are Energy Yellow Citrus and Honey (for brightening) and Soothing and Healing Green Tea (for oil and pore control). The way this product works, is you double-cleanse, then pour a capful of the Patting Water Pack into about a cup and a half of water and mix. Then you splash your face with the mix and pat it into your skin for 30 seconds. Don’t rinse it off.

This seems like a bit too much work for me at night, when I’d rather float a sheet mask on my face and veg out in front of the TV. But it could save time in the morning, since it takes the place of exfoliants, essences, and serums.

Pure Skin Ice Cooling and Soothing Patch (5 each)
“A bio cellulose patch for soothing and alleviating skin stimulated from sun exposure. The water lily extracts, menthol, and glacier water work to cool down the skin while the tea tree extracts and aloe vera leaf extracts work to deeply soothe irritated skin.”

pureskinpatch

These seem to function as a Salonpas for sunburn. Since I managed to avoid burning this year, I’m going to use them when I get mild steam burns from cooking (which happens with depressing regularity). I love the idea of a soothing patch instead of ointment that my dog will immediately lick off me.

Pure Skin Lemon Blueberry Rejuvenating Overnight Mask (100mL)
“Enriched with various organic superfood ingredients such as lemon water, blueberry, and broccoli extracts, it works to create a protective, moisturizing barrier over the outer layer of your skin for locking in moisture and delivering abundant nutrition deep down into the skin overnight.”

puremask

This sleeping pack smells lightly of lemon and has a creamy texture. I love sleeping packs, so I’m always happy to get more of them.

I really like most of the items in this box! I’m glad I decided to get it, even though I wasn’t sure if it would be makeup or skincare.
