Mani: Back-to-School Preppy Plaid

I wish summer could last forever, but alas! It is not to be. School started today, and I decided to go back in style with fall colors. I broke a nail recently, so all my lovely long nails got filed down to nubs — I think I went a little overboard on my left hand, lol.

Mani: B&W wraps and decals

I wanted to try something a little different from what I usually do and decided to go with a high contrast black and white mani. I got black and white Jamberry checker wraps (only sold until August 31) recently, so I knew I wanted to use them, and also got some Skelanimals water slide decals from Nail Pop and figured I had a design.

Mani: Copper Deco

I’m trying to be less perfectionist about line art on my nails, so rather than use striping tape on this mani, I just used a small striping brush. While the lines are definitely not straight, they’re also not too far off.

I used butter London polishes for this. Poole is the pale turquoise, and Goss is the metallic copper. Both have a great formula; Goss especially has amazing coverage.

Summer is ending, but I’m holding onto these summer colors for awhile! What do you think?

Sponsored Review: EnvyDerm Mascara, round 2

The product in this review was sent to me in exchange for my honest opinion.

After my last review of EnvyDerm mascara, the company contacted me to try again with a different tube. I accepted, and then sat on the product review for a long time, mostly because I suck and my students ran me ragged this year.

EnvyDerm sent me Eyelash Enhancement and Conditioning Volume Mascara in black. It retails for $29 USD for 7 mL, with free USA shipping. EnvyDerm claims their lash enhancing products contain “innovative and proven ingredients provided by Mother Nature.”*

Mani: Under the Sea

OMG I suck at life and blogging. I just… The end of this school year was so difficult, for reasons. When people say that teachers have it easy, I want to kick them in the shins, because we don’t.

Anyhoo, I finally had time to do a decent manicure, and I wanted to try doing a gradient again, because I’m so bad at it. I covered up my ineptitude with glitter, which is really the best way to do it.

Week of February 23, 2015: Name one or more discontinued beauty, skincare or nail products/shades that you would bring back if you could!

My favorite flower scent is lilac. A million years ago, Bath and Body Works had a line of lilac-scented beauty products that I loved. Of course they discontinued them. I know that some products — room scents mostly — have re-emerged, but they don’t carry the lilac lotion and bath gel anymore. I bought a whole bunch of the lotions before they got discontinued and I have one left. The bottle is so old it’s yellow, but the lotion inside is still good, and smells of lilac and baby powder. Oh, I miss it!

What’s your favorite discontinued product?
