I wish summer could last forever, but alas! It is not to be. School started today, and I decided to go back in style with fall colors. I broke a nail recently, so all my lovely long nails got filed down to nubs — I think I went a little overboard on my left hand, lol.

Mani: B&W wraps and decals
I wanted to try something a little different from what I usually do and decided to go with a high contrast black and white mani. I got black and white Jamberry checker wraps (only sold until August 31) recently, so I knew I wanted to use them, and also got some Skelanimals water slide decals from Nail Pop and figured I had a design.
Mani: Copper Deco
I’m trying to be less perfectionist about line art on my nails, so rather than use striping tape on this mani, I just used a small striping brush. While the lines are definitely not straight, they’re also not too far off.
I used butter London polishes for this. Poole is the pale turquoise, and Goss is the metallic copper. Both have a great formula; Goss especially has amazing coverage.
Summer is ending, but I’m holding onto these summer colors for awhile! What do you think?
Mani: Pool Dots
This is a simple look that I think came out really nicely. I started with a base of butter London’s Cotton Buds, then added dots in Julep Alyssa (turquoise) and Ione (violet).
Cute and cool for the summer heat! What do you think?
Mani: Under the Sea
OMG I suck at life and blogging. I just… The end of this school year was so difficult, for reasons. When people say that teachers have it easy, I want to kick them in the shins, because we don’t.
Anyhoo, I finally had time to do a decent manicure, and I wanted to try doing a gradient again, because I’m so bad at it. I covered up my ineptitude with glitter, which is really the best way to do it.
Mani Monday – Berry Fire
Today I have some simple as dirt nail art that looks really amazing because of the incredible polish I used.
Mani: mint with Jamberry accent
So my friend Lori invited me to a Facebook Jamberry party, where I spent a ton of money on nail wraps. I got several really lovely designs that I’m excited to use in nail art and as accents.
Mani Monday: Holo with Dots
Another snow day! This is getting ridiculous, but it gives me time to update, and my dog Gabranth is thrilled I’m home.
Manicure: red half moons
I still do my nails, I swear! I love half moon manis because they’re an elegant look for something so simple.
I used a base of Azature Opal. Azature boasts that it has a real black diamond in every bottle. I can’t believe that’s true, but these polishes have a lovely formula and sparkle. I got several on deep discount during a pre-Christmas sale; they normally retail for $25 but I got them for $6 each. Opal is a very sheer nude with a red shimmer. I was going to leave it like that for an understated look, but then decided to add Deborah Lippmann Lady is a Tramp from the Jazz Standards mini set my MUT Secret Santa gave me. It’s a bold red creme, blue-toned, somewhat sheer and jelly-ish on one coat, so I used two.
I really like how these turned out. But what’s going on with my middle finger? I must be flipping off too many people, because that nail is constantly splitting and peeling. If anyone has any suggestions for how to prevent that, I’d love to hear them.
Mani Monday – Winter White
I’ve been crazy busy (and not feeling well lately), so I have a ton of backlogged posts and pictures to get organized. First, though, I wanted to show off a mani I did using part of the gift my amazing MUT Secret Santa got me!
