I haven’t posted nail art in so long! It just takes time to do and photograph, and since I mostly do my nails at night, it can be a pain to prep my fingers for photography and figure out decent lighting when all I want to do is nap. But here’s a quick one that I managed to work out yesterday.

I recently saw this design by All Lacquered Up and wanted to replicate it in autumn colors.

I was cleaning all weekend, and it left me with brittle nails, so when I went to strip my polish and file my nails on Sunday, several of them split. 😦 I decided to cut all of them down and polish the nubs with something neutral until they grow out a little more. Fortunately, Zoya’s got my back, as always.

This is my first shot at doing an argyle design. The stripes are a little wonky, but otherwise, it came out pretty good, I think.

So, I’m on a diet. This isn’t anything new, but I’m really trying to watch what I eat so I can drop a few before the winter holidays. One thing I’m craving is chocolate, so I’ve been buying a bunch of skincare products with chocolate in them to tide me over. I decided to do a cocoa-colored manicure too. Just so you all know, it’s not helping my choco-craving one bit. 🙂

I’m sitting in my first faculty meeting of the new school year, trying not to fall asleep — I’m out of practice at getting up before 5:30am! While I’m looking forward to cozy sweaters, rich hues, and caramel lattes, I decided to try and use the bright pastels of summer in one more simple skittle manicure.

Shark Week used to be the highlight of my summer, but that’s when Discovery used to show actual science instead of dramatizations of mythical creatures. Still, I love sharks, so I thought about using blue and grey as my manicure colors this week.

So a million years ago, when Thor: The Dark World was coming out, I did this manicure.

So my town does trick or treating the Saturday before Halloween, and as members of the Board of Trustees for my development, my neighbor and I give out candy and coffee at a station set up in front of our units. I had my face all done up with my new Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things palette (OMG LOVE IT, OKAY?) and my fingers decorated with Dia de los Muertos sugar skull accent nails.
Trick or treat!
