Memebox Review – Superbox #37: At Home

Today I’ll be reviewing the At Home superbox. A superbox is a little more expensive than a regular themed box, and always contains all fll-sized products. The theme of this box was treatments that take a little more time, so good for when you’re stuck at home on a rainy day (like today happens to be). This box contained 6 full-sized products. All product descriptions below come from the info card included (corrected for grammar and spelling because, well, I can’t restrain myself).

Memebox Review – Color Box Orange

Several weeks ago, I got the Orange Color Box from Memebox. I love the color orange (all autumn colors agree with me), but I wasn’t super thrilled with the quality of all of these products. This box only contained four items for $15USD + shipping. Even though I don’t LOVE them, I do use the makeup regularly.

Memebox Review – Vitamin Special Box

Today I’ll be reviewing the recently sent Vitamin Box. This box contained 7 full-sized products. All product descriptions below come from the info card included (corrected for grammar and spelling because, well, I can’t restrain myself). This box is currently sold out, but Memebox occasionally restocks, or more often, releases another version of bestselling boxes.

So Memebox aficionados have joked that this should have been called the Pure Smile box, since nearly everything is that brand. The packaging of Pure Smile makes me think it’s drugstore-level, but Korean product packaging can be misleading. Either way, I really like their products, so I’m pretty happy with this box.

Memebox Review – Cooling Care Special Box

Memebox is a Korean Beauty mystery box. They generally release new boxes each week; some are themed and others miscellaneous products. All items are Korean, usually lesser-known brands. Boxes range in price (starting usually at $23 USD) and standard shipping (which takes a couple of weeks) is $6.99 USD per box ordered (so if you order two boxes, it’s $13.98 for shipping). Boxes are usually pre-ordered to be shipped at a later date, which is kind of fun if you order a ton in, say, the last two weeks of school while you’re bored and then you forget everything you ordered and are pleasantly surprised by beauty products on your doorstep.

I’ve gotten maybe 15 or so boxes so far, with at least 10 more on the way (yeah, I know, it’s an addiction). Today I’ll be reviewing the recently sent Cooling Box. This box contained 5 full-sized products. All product descriptions below come from the info card included (corrected for grammar and spelling because, well, I can’t restrain myself).

Coming back soon!

Ugh. So. Here’s my mess of excuses.

November is the cruelest month, no matter what T.S. Eliot says. It started with the end of the first grading quarter, which was a week of sleepless nights to try and get everything graded and calculated. Next came my birthday weekend, when my mother came up to visit. That was delightful, but necessitated a lot of work on my part to get my house immaculate. The day after she left, on my birthday, we suffered a death in the family, so I spent the next weekend travelling home to PA. Thanksgiving, and another trip to PA, came soon after that. Then the holiday season was in full swing and I was cleaning, decorating, baking, wrapping, ordering, and again travelling to PA. And now it’s the end of the second quarter marking period and I’m again drowning in work.

But my nails have not been bare! I have a few pictures of holiday manis to post, and swatches from three months of SquareHue. The Zoya spring Natural collection is on its way to me, and I picked up a few random other colors in various holiday shopping sprees. I have some make-up swatches too, from the new Revlon matte lip crayons. I’ve given up Ipsy and all but given up Julep, but I’m sure something will come along to fill the void.

So, my new year’s resolution is to get back on track, but I need to get all these essays graded first. Thanks for hanging in there! 🙂

butter LONDON: Double Take Sets (and Petrol)

I need to be stopped, guys. Thank goodness I’ve been doing all this tutoring for extra money, because the start of the holiday seasons means buying gifts…for myself!

Most of the butter LONDON 2013 Illusionists set doesn’t thrill me. Union Jack Black and Come to Bed Red have long been available, and while I love the gold and silver glitter topcoats, I have similar effects in much cheaper brands. For as rarely as I go glitter, I’m okay with the less expensive version, although I’m sure the bL glitter coats are divine. Not pictured above are two sets called Double Take — a red version and a blue version that each contain a shimmery polish and an iridescent flakie topcoat. Now these, I had to have, and I also purchased Petrol (pictured above).
